You can only recommend once you've confirmed you used them

There's no anonymous star-rating box on Noticed. Every recommendation requires ticking a box confirming you've genuinely used that business. It doesn't need to be recent, just real.

We'll be honest about what that checkbox actually does: it can't physically stop someone from lying. What it does mean is that a false claim is an unambiguous policy violation if we ever find one, not just a difference of opinion, so it's grounds for straightforward removal.

For a stronger signal than a checkbox, look for the green "✓ Verified via Noticed" badge on a recommendation. That only appears when the person requested a quote through this site and the business itself later marked that job as completed, so it's confirmed by two separate people, not one person's word alone.

Automatic checks catch the obvious stuff

New recommendations are automatically screened for things like suspicious links, unusually short text, and an unusual burst of activity — either from one account posting too fast, or several different accounts recommending the same business at once. Anything flagged goes to a human for a second look before it appears publicly.

One recommendation per person, per business — always visible

"47 recommendations" means 47 different people, not one enthusiastic customer posting repeatedly. You can update your own recommendation any time your experience changes, but it only ever counts once.

Business claims are reviewed, not automatic

Claiming a business goes through a human review before it's approved — and can be revoked later if it turns out to have been wrong. Nobody gets to manage a listing just by saying so.

Proof you send us — handled carefully, not held onto

Claiming a listing or applying for a Verified badge can involve sending something genuinely sensitive — a trade certificate, a DBS check, or even ID, depending on what you have to show. We take that seriously: any file you upload for this goes to private storage, never public, visible only to you and to an admin reviewing it — not to other businesses, not to other users, and not searchable or listed anywhere. Once your claim or verification request has been decided, approved or not, the file is deleted rather than kept on file afterwards.

Response rates are measured, not self-reported

When you see a business's response-rate badge, it's calculated from real timestamps — not something the business typed in about themselves.
