Privacy Policy

Placeholder draft — this is a starting structure, not finished legal text. Have a solicitor review this before launch, particularly around UK GDPR requirements, before real people's data is collected.

What we collect: your name, email, and home area when you create an account; the content of any recommendation, quote request, or business claim you submit; and photos you choose to upload.

Why we collect it: to show your recommendations publicly with attribution, to let businesses respond to quote requests, and to prevent spam and abuse of the platform.

Who it's shared with: your name and recommendation text are shown publicly on the relevant business's page. Your email and phone number are only shared with a business once you submit a quote request to them directly — every request reaches the business in full, nothing is held back or unlocked separately.

Proof documents (business claims and Verified badge requests): if you upload proof to claim a listing or apply for a Verified badge — a business card, trade certificate, DBS check, or ID, for example — that file is stored privately, never public, and only ever visible to you and to an admin reviewing it. It's deleted once your request has been decided, whether approved or not, rather than kept on file afterwards.

Your rights: under UK GDPR you can request a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account and associated content. Contact [your email address here].

Cookies: we use essential cookies to keep you signed in. [Add detail here if analytics or marketing cookies are added later.]
